Merry Christmas Denmark and Finland!

Hello! We have been very busy in the last few weeks, as Christmas is drawing near.
We'd like to say to you all in Skaelskor and Kuvansi- have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We have been busy yesterday and today learning how to draw 3D type perspective pictures. Some of them are shown below. We hope you like them!

Ilpo has tiled his floor and his ceiling!

Here is Riina, with her room. Can you see her TV and TV unit?

Irja's room has a nice rug on her tiled floor.

Mika has a nice picture on his faraway wall to look at while sitting on his sofa!

Miia's room is very colourful, and she has black and white tiles on her floor!

Juha has a coffee table in the middle of his room.

Denmark says hello!

Hello Gifford and Kuvansi.

Sorry we have not written for a while, but the teacher had the flu and has been away for 3 weeks. Now we are back and yesterday we went on photosafari in our town. We are not able to ship the pictures until tomorrow. But we are enjoying your new posts.

Working on the weather!

In class, we have been learning about weather. As part of this, one afternoon, we used the internet to find out what the weather was in every European capital city!

Ahvo and Aliisa are working on their weather project.

We drew Lily of the Valley pictures

In art, we drew our own Lily of the Valley pictures, using pastel crayons. This is one of our finished examples!

Making tartan!

Recently, we had a special session where children from other classes came together, and we made our own tartan, using wool.

Here, Miia is working with one of our primary one pupils.

You might recognise two of last year's class, Broch and Craw, who came along to enjoy making tartan!

Welcome to Kuvansi

We made a bike trip, and there you can see our photos. The weather was cloudy. We hope you enjoy our pictures.

Barber

Suzy is choosing by a new hair color.

Bakery

Our school is next to the bakery, which also has a cafe. Suzy does not know how to decide, because he wants to eat everything.

Kuvansi River

On the other side of the river is Kuvansi and on the other side is Varkaus. The river is the old border river. It is the Pähkinäsaari of peace for the year 1323. It was between Sweden and Novgorod peace.

The boys of Kuvansi is smiling on the bridge.

Happy sons Teddy and Victor are standing on the bridge, which is between East and West.

Next, we visited Kimmo’s stables

There will be trained and groomed to saddle horses. Stable has 22 horses seats. In winter, they are training in the riding hall, which is 1,500 square meters.

Rider Master Kimmo Kinnunen, Teddy's father

Kimmo has won six times the Finnish championship and won the silver medal in the Nordic Championships and was sixth in the World Cup.

Welcome to our village!

This is our village- Gifford. We thought that you would all like to see where we live. It would also be nice for us to see a bit of Kuvansi and Skaelskoer.

This photo was taken in spring time, and it shows the village hall.

Near to the centre

This picture was also taken in spring time. It shows houses close to the centre of the village.

A typical street.

Today, we all went out with digital cameras and walked around the village, taking photos. It's autumn here, and the leaves were looking lovely.
This street is close to the school. Are the houses in your town like these ones?

The Park

Here, we have part of the park. It's actually very large, and has a large football field in the middle, as well as swings and places for children to play. In the summer lots of people use the park. Today though, we thought the trees looked nice!

Yester Estate

These gates lead into Yester Estate. This is a private part of Gifford.

A typical back garden!

We took this photo because it shows what some back gardens in Gifford look like. Can you see all the vegetables?

Towards the centre of the village

Here, you can see the centre of the village in the distance. The trees on the left are part of The Avenue, leading to the park.

The Avenue

This photo shows the autumn leaves well in The Avenue, next to the park.

We also had some fun here in The Avenue, throwing up some of the leaves, as you can see!
